This 10-month Arabic Calligraphy Diploma is a comprehensive, step-by-step journey into the timeless art of Islamic calligraphy. Designed specifically for complete beginners, this diploma introduces students to two of the most graceful and historically significant scripts: Ruq‘ah and Diwani.
Throughout 80 live sessions, students will be trained in the classical rules, techniques, and tools used by master calligraphers for centuries. The course begins with an introduction to the rich history of Arabic calligraphy, the philosophy behind each script, and the cultural significance of handwritten Quranic and poetic texts. Students will then move into hands-on training in Qalam making, ink and paper selection, and the proper posture and stroke techniques essential for high-level work.
Through structured and progressive learning, you will master Huroof-e-Mufradat (individual letters), Huroof-e-Murakkabat (joined letters), and complex word formations in both Ruq‘ah and Diwani scripts. You’ll engage in weekly takhti assignments, instructor feedback sessions, and creative composition challenges to solidify your skills. Students will also explore Islamic design elements, gold leaf calligraphy, and paper crafting, with a focus on preparing a final framed project that reflects their artistic growth.
By the end of this diploma, students will not only have built foundational and intermediate expertise in Arabic calligraphy, but they will also hold a professional diploma certificate — equipped to pursue personal art goals, professional commissions, or further advanced training in calligraphy.
